牙髓炎是牙髓發(fā)生的炎癥
性病變，牙髓位于牙髓腔內(nèi)，通過根尖孔與牙槽骨相通，內(nèi)有神經(jīng)分布。牙髓炎主要表現(xiàn)為牙齒
疼痛，可為溫度刺激痛、自發(fā)痛、放散性痛、夜間痛，患者有時(shí)不能自己定位疼痛的牙齒，疼痛劇烈時(shí)可放散至半側(cè)頭面部，甚至夜不能寐。有如老百姓所流傳的，牙痛不是病，疼起來真要命的順口溜。
在慢性牙髓炎時(shí)，一般服用消炎藥物及止疼藥物可暫時(shí)緩解，如不治療可能會(huì)在未來一段時(shí)間內(nèi)反復(fù)發(fā)作，甚至出現(xiàn)牙髓壞死，炎癥進(jìn)一步向根尖周發(fā)展。需要指出的是，急性期藥物治療效果可能不明顯。
