重度脂肪肝會出現(xiàn)肚子腫大。重度脂肪肝出現(xiàn)肚子腫大和肝臟發(fā)生纖維化有關(guān)。重度脂肪肝的患者會出現(xiàn)不同程度的肝臟纖維化，有些患者肝臟纖維化比較嚴(yán)重，嚴(yán)重的肝臟纖維化會增加肝門靜脈的壓力，從而導(dǎo)致腸道內(nèi)靜脈血管的阻力增大，最終導(dǎo)致患者出現(xiàn)腹水的癥狀。
嚴(yán)重的脂肪肝還會影響肝臟的功能，肝臟合成白蛋白的能力會降低，可以出現(xiàn)低蛋白血癥，低蛋白血癥也可以引起腹水的癥狀。大量的腹水就會導(dǎo)致患者出現(xiàn)肚子的腫大。腹水的出現(xiàn)往往提示脂肪肝的病情比較嚴(yán)重，可能已經(jīng)達(dá)到了肝硬化的程度，患者的病情相對較重。
