青光眼手術(shù)后患者的視力能否提高，與患者的病情有關(guān)。對于急性閉角型青光眼發(fā)作的患者，因為眼壓突然升高，患者的角膜會出現(xiàn)水腫，引起視力下降。同時由于高眼壓壓迫視網(wǎng)膜的動脈與靜脈，有可能造成視網(wǎng)膜的缺血，也會引起視力下降。此時如果能夠及時通過藥物治療手術(shù)治療等方式降低眼壓，就能夠使水腫的角膜恢復(fù)透明，視網(wǎng)膜的血液循環(huán)恢復(fù)正常，視力就有可能恢復(fù)。
而對于慢性閉角型青光眼以及原發(fā)性開角型青光眼的患者，由于眼壓是逐漸升高的，視網(wǎng)膜會出現(xiàn)長期受壓迫，導致視神經(jīng)萎縮的情況，而角膜一般不會出現(xiàn)水腫，這種類型的青光眼患者經(jīng)過治療后眼壓降低，也只能阻止和延緩病情的進展，并不能使已經(jīng)下降的視力恢復(fù)。
