檢測視力距離一般是5m。
通常按照5m的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)距離制作視力表，以一分視角作為正常視功能來設(shè)計視標(biāo)和檢測距離，所以5m的視力表是最常見的，也有時會使用2.5m的視力表，還有一些國家是采用6m的視力表。
五分制和一分制的視力表對應(yīng)的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)視力是5.0和是1.0，們的視標(biāo)都是按照可分辨視角為一分視角來設(shè)計的，視標(biāo)通常是E字型，每一個筆畫的寬度是一分視角，整個E的寬度是5×5，每個筆畫是一分，三個橫杠和兩個空白間隔都是均等的一分視角，這種標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的視力表，患者坐在5m的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)距離，看到了1.0的十個視標(biāo)，視力就是標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的1.0的視力。
