乙型肝炎病毒的傳播途徑主要有母嬰垂直傳播、血液傳播、性傳播三種途徑。HBV母嬰垂直傳播多發(fā)生在圍生期，通過慢性HBV感染者母親的血液和體液將HBV傳播給新生兒。HBeAg陽性高病毒載量的母親容易傳播HBV至新生兒。成人主要經(jīng)血液傳播和性接觸傳播。
HBV可經(jīng)破損的皮膚或黏膜傳播，如紋身、扎耳環(huán)孔、修眉、共用剃須刀和牙具等，也可經(jīng)有創(chuàng)的醫(yī)學操作、檢查等傳播。HBV性傳播多見于與HBV感染者發(fā)生無防護的性接觸，特別是有多個性伴侶者、男男同性戀者等。那么預防乙型肝炎病毒傳播的最有效方式是注射乙肝疫苗。HBV感染者的傳染性高低主要取決于血液中HBV-DNA水平，與血清丙氨酸轉(zhuǎn)氨酶（ALT）、天冬氨酸轉(zhuǎn)氨酶（AST）和膽紅素水平無關。
