放療是臨床上常用的治療惡性腫瘤的手段之一，通過(guò)放射線治療可殺傷癌細(xì)胞。
放療因?yàn)槭蔷植康闹委煼椒ǎ串?dāng)惡性腫瘤未擴(kuò)散，病變較局限時(shí)，往往是放療或手術(shù)切掉后，防止肉眼看不見的一些殘存的腫瘤細(xì)胞，再度會(huì)增殖起來(lái)，導(dǎo)致腫瘤復(fù)發(fā)，此時(shí)也會(huì)用放射治療的方法，進(jìn)行放射性治療。
如果在經(jīng)過(guò)放射治療后，有一些癌細(xì)胞未被放射性殺死，隨著病程的延長(zhǎng)，一般情況下還會(huì)再次惡性的增殖，會(huì)出現(xiàn)新的腫瘤。當(dāng)然，這種腫瘤就和以前腫瘤的組織病理學(xué)的檢查結(jié)果是一致的，也就是細(xì)胞的形態(tài)學(xué)是一樣的。
