小兒咳嗽沒有吃什么好的說法，但應清淡飲食、避免容易過敏的食物。
小兒咳嗽的原因，一種是由于局部的刺激，痰熱的刺激，炎癥的刺激等導致的，氣道的反應比較敏感，臨床上叫氣道的高反應性。這種咳嗽患者在飲食方面就要特別注意，清淡飲食，辛辣的、太咸的、太膩的要避免，否則會刺激氣道引起氣道的分泌，加重咳嗽癥狀。
另外一種是由于過敏因素引起的咳嗽，患者可以通過查過敏原，來了解對哪些食物過敏，避開這些飲食。如果查不出來，就避免相對來說容易導致過敏的食物，如海鮮，辣椒等刺激性特別大的食物。
