大部分腎腫瘤都需要手術(shù)治療。良性腎腫瘤患者要根據(jù)腫瘤的大小，同時結(jié)合患者的年齡來判斷是否需要外科干預(yù)。惡性腎腫瘤患者在身體允許的情況下，一定要積極外科干預(yù)。因?yàn)殡S著腎臟惡性腫瘤的增大，病人會有腰疼、血尿，甚至引起遠(yuǎn)處轉(zhuǎn)移，比如肺轉(zhuǎn)移、腦轉(zhuǎn)移、骨轉(zhuǎn)移等情況，嚴(yán)重威脅患者生命。
如果術(shù)前不能明確判斷腫瘤到底是良性還是惡性，一般要進(jìn)行CT平掃和加強(qiáng)，或者術(shù)前的穿刺活檢。通過CT影像學(xué)檢查或者穿刺活檢確定腫瘤的性質(zhì)后，進(jìn)一步?jīng)Q定手術(shù)治療的方案，是選擇保腎手術(shù)還是根治性腎切除。
