通過體格的檢查、影像學(xué)以及電生理等檢查能綜合診斷坐骨神經(jīng)痛。
坐骨神經(jīng)疼痛主要限于坐骨神經(jīng)分布區(qū)，大腿后部、小腿后外側(cè)和足部，疼痛劇烈的病人可呈特有的姿勢。腰部屈曲、屈膝、腳尖著地。
如病變位于神經(jīng)根時，椎管內(nèi)壓力增加，咳嗽、用力時疼痛加重。可有坐骨神經(jīng)支配肌肉全部或部分力弱或癱瘓。可有或無坐骨切跡處坐骨神經(jīng)干的壓痛。可有坐骨神經(jīng)支配區(qū)域的各種感覺的減退或消失，包括外踝的振動覺減退，亦可有極輕的感覺障礙。
