腦垂體瘤是一種良性的
腫瘤，所以患者不必太緊張。其中一部分腫瘤只需要通過吃藥就可以治療。即使很多垂體腺瘤不能夠通過吃藥治療，也可以通過手術(shù)治療，而且不用開顱，只要通過鼻子就可以把腫瘤全切，所以，手術(shù)后對患者容貌沒有太大的影響，是良性腫瘤。
但是如果腫瘤是侵襲性的垂體腺瘤，或者腫瘤在生長的過程中體積比較大，腫瘤如果不治療，可能會壓迫患者的垂體功能，垂體功能受影響以后，
內(nèi)分泌功能就受影響，對患者會有嚴(yán)重的影響，甚至影響患者的壽命。
