結(jié)腸炎是否嚴(yán)重主要根據(jù)表現(xiàn)決定。一般急性腸炎都是有腹痛、拉肚子，這種情況可能吃點(diǎn)黃連素、氟哌酸很快就會(huì)好。

但是如果得了潰瘍性結(jié)腸炎，尤其是重度性潰瘍結(jié)腸炎或者難治性潰瘍性結(jié)腸炎，有時(shí)候可以出現(xiàn)生命危險(xiǎn)，因?yàn)樗鼤?huì)引起一些并發(fā)癥，比如腸穿孔、中毒性巨結(jié)腸、上下消化道出血控制不住，可以影響生命危險(xiǎn)。還有可以導(dǎo)致腸息肉，腸息肉是一種癌前病變，往往是上皮內(nèi)瘤變或者腺瘤樣改變?；蛘呤侵苯幼兂赡c癌。
