HPV16陽性說明感染了16型的HPV病毒，HPV病毒最常見的是16型和18型，大概有80%的宮頸癌與16型和18型有關(guān)。
如果出現(xiàn)高危型HPV16型陽性，需要做陰道鏡檢查取活檢，然后送病理看宮頸是否發(fā)生了癌前病變或癌變。如果HPV高危型16陽性同時(shí)伴有宮頸出現(xiàn)CIN2級(jí)以上時(shí)，說明宮頸出現(xiàn)了癌前病變，可能需要進(jìn)行利普刀手術(shù)或錐切手術(shù)。如果只是宮頸高危型HPV16感染是陽性，但宮頸活檢結(jié)果正常，說明沒有發(fā)生宮頸的癌前病變。
