嬰幼兒急性上呼吸道感染多是病毒引起，也有少部分患兒是細(xì)菌感染引起，這些病原體主要通過呼吸道傳播，也可通過食物或餐具傳播。
1、病原體主要通過呼吸道傳播：引起嬰幼兒急性上呼吸道感染病原體大多是通過呼吸道傳播，比如患者平時說話、咳嗽、打噴嚏時，可將體內(nèi)病原體播散到空氣中，如果被健康患兒吸入，就可能引起急性上呼吸道感染。
2、與抵抗力不完善有很大關(guān)系：嬰幼兒身體抵抗力低不完善，因此更容易發(fā)生急性上呼吸道感染。其次，當(dāng)受到不良因素影響導(dǎo)致全身或呼吸道局部防御功能降低，如營養(yǎng)不良、睡眠不足、受涼、過度疲勞等，本身聚集在上呼吸道的或從外界入侵的病原體會迅速繁殖，從而誘發(fā)本病。
